Called a farmer tonight to see if I could go up thier since I got a tag for up north. When I called him he said that their was 15 turkeys eating out of the silo bags, and every one of them was a tom. He said that their was one of them that had to be over 30 pounds, said he would go half way across the field and sit down for awhile. Then he gets back up and walks the rest of the way. I cant wait last year it took me 10 minutes to shoot the bird and the rest of the day talking to farmer. Sure was fun.

I heard a reason for that, not sure it's true. The turkeys like to be out in the feilds when it raining or windy because predators can sneek up on them easier. I do agree that I like open places when its raining not sure about the wind though.

Agree turkeys love the rain, but on real windy days the turkeys seem to be hudled together in the woods around here.
