Spot and stalk
Are any of you big spot and stalk hunters for anything especially turkeys? I love to do it but most of the old time hunters around here dont believe in it. It seems like I'm stalking a tom every afternoon around here during the season or following him to his roost if it isnt season. I do it a lot for ducks and geese also but I have never did it for deer. What are your thoughts about it?

Tried it a few times on turkeys and was never succesfull yet! But I can see if you get good at it then it would be a fun way to hunt!

If you notice the birds always fly off the roost and go a general direction following the hens, they breed then the hens feed and head off to there nest, then close to dark the hens get back out and tend to roost in the same area along with the toms as the season goes on you will notice when you call the hens go the other direction taking the toms with them. so try starting hunting in the direction that they naturally
want to travel and ...dont call or if you must use only soft clucks.
so far my season has gone bad for opening morning I found two young teens in my blind.. did not go well since then I have been flooded out of my ground at my house with both rivers up and down here I have fell in the water twice climbing the banks.I can see birds all day long and cant get to them and it's calling for rain this whole weekend. well there is always grocery store

Sorry to hear that. The last few days have been dry here but me and a friend wore waders all weekend scouting turkeys and we were walking through some of corn feilds and soybean feilds. The next week and a half we have a chance of thunderstorms, and a lot of rain.
