They are driving me nuts. I have hunted every day of the season and I can not get him. He never sleeps in the same tree and never comes out on the same trail. I had the birds around 80 yards on Wedensday and then I had to leave to go to school. Then Wedensday night I snuck way back into the swamp and I thought I had him. He was gobbling like crazy and seemek like I could do nothing wrong. The swamp I was hunting though was so thick I could not see him. He was only 40 yards away and he did not want to come any closer. I hit my gobbler call and he gobbled back. I heard a twig snap and their he was at 12 yards full strut. Right behind a brush pile great. He never seen my decoys and walked right back never getting a shot. Then the next moring after I got done hunting him again. I had to go to school againg he was on the road going into a couple of houses. Great so that night I hunted the swamp againg and it was pouring ran. Did not see him at all or hear him. Then last night I was headed down in the swamp again and here he was strutting up behind one of the houses. I was watching him and then a guy pulls in and sneaks up on this tom. He is only 15 yards from a house which was crazy I thought. I gave up hunting and just watched if the bird was going to get shot. I was only 150 yards away from him when I was sitting in my Grandpas front lawn with the Binoculars. Then the owner got home and he seen the decoys. He went walking right out their and they were talking for about 1 and a half. Then the guy left and the tom walked right in where the guy left. I woke up this moring and headed down into the swamp hoping another tom moved in. As I was playing around with some jakes up in the trees behind me. The tom gobbled right behind the house and I looked and the guy was sneeking up their again. The tom flew out on top the hill nowhere near the guy. The guy left at at 6 this moring hoping nobody was up yet. I got permision from the owner to allow me to hunt their so I went up their and the tom was sitting their strutting a few hours ago. I'll have to wait till the morning to sneek in on him. Unless that other guy gets him first. I have till tuesday until I get this guy and I bound in determined to get him. Sorry for the long story but this bird is driving me nuts.

Sounds like alot of fun, even though he's getting the best of ya. His luck is about to run out though and think how rewarding of a feeling you'll have when you harvest him.
