Camo On Lock Box Empty Camo On Lock Box

Post by NantucketShedHunter Thu Apr 18, 2013 8:08 pm

I'm almost done applying natural pine bark to my M80's lock box. It was pretty time consuming as I had to apply each section of bark to the lock box and let it dry overnight. I used Gorilla Glue. I'm almost done. I need to find a way to camo the IR array but I have something in mind involving a sheet of camo tape.

Here's what it looks like so far. About 95% complete-

Thanks. Stay tuned for the completed job. My M80 is currently at the start of a two month soak so it will be a while before I put it all together.

I was finally able to deploy my bark-encrusted lock box today. I think it looks okay but REALLY sticks out from the tree. It was a good experiment none-the-less.

Great job SH! Taken from military tactics one usually pans the area quickly while moving missing a lot of objects hidden from the eye. If something unusual is placed where it normally doesn't belong it stands out of course.

Here as others have stated, they had to pin point their vision to locate it and me as well from the far shots. If you look at that far away shot there is so much unorganized natural clutter growing the bark box blends in outstanding.

Now on patrol and being briefed on such objects and moving in patrol formations carefully looking for things like this and tripwires etc. the military soldier / marine would find it. Civilian's don't have that mind set when moving through the woods and don't slowly patrol. Unless it flashes and they just walk right up to it OR you make the same path to it, it should work out super for ya.

Great job from keeping the secret eye in the woods camo'd and concealed from the insurgents.
⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ Rating brah!

I need to do some more experimentation with this setup. I'm thinking it would blend in much better if I place it in the middle of three offset trees that are very close together. Stay tuned.
