First deer with bow
I usually don't shoot does but I have never shot a deer with my bow before and really never thought about taking a doe, but on the one farm I hunt their is a pretty old doe running around and she would bust you no matter what tree stand you would sit in. She just seemed to know when you were up their. Since of my concussion I cant climb a tree stand but wanted to go pretty bad so I set up a chair in the corn field and just waited, before I new it I had some fawns and does feeding pretty close to me. Then I see some deer moving through the woods so I hit the grunt call and a spike buck comes running right in and stops at 10 yards away, he didn't bust me so he went off and chased a couple of the does but I could still see deer so I hit the grunt again and this big doe came running and stopped at 20 yards, I couldn't pass it up since my grandpa really wanted deer meat. When I shot I heard a good thoud but wasn't sure so I sat for about a half hour before I went to go look for the arrow, when I got out their I couldn't find a drop of blood or the arrow so I waited for my grandpa to get out of his tree stand and I went on the edge of the woods thinking she had to go in somewhere and I found the arrow broken off and blood covered the grass all around. I then went to the house to get some more flashlights and give her time to lay down since the last buck I shot I tracked way to fast and pushed it. When I came back down she was laying about 20 yards away in the woods. Couldn't get much better for a doe. I doubled lunged it which I couldn't believe since with my concussion my eye sight isn't always the best.

Congrats Bryce that's a great doe! Bet she had a nice layer of fat on her when ya skinned her. If I had a real farm to hunt, I would be filling my freezer with doe meat. They sure make for some good eating.
