gobbler down
figured it was time to put one down. started this morning on a birds that has been henned up and of course that did not work out. so i went to another spot. lots of sign and strut marks so i set up. decoys out and did some light calling. after about 30 minutes i put out a loud series of yelps and got hammered. so i did it again and he hammered. couple minutes later the same thing but je was closer. then he stopped answering. so i put the silent treatment in effect. i stopped calling at 11:13am and at 11:20 i spotted the birds coming through the grass. when they spotted chuck(my decoy) he blew up in strut and drumed as loud as any i ever heard. he started mean walking and i saved chucks butt in the nick of time. smashed him at 25 yards. 10 1/4 beard 1 1/4 spurs and 18lb 12oz

That's awesome ! Public land birds are fun to hunt but some times it just really feels like they know every truck in the book !
