Are you talking deer pudge or the big game that is mentioned on the home page under the big game tab. Deer are big game i guess. i got a button buck in archery and i very small eight on a drive in rifle season here. Missed two within a minute of eachother on the first day of archery. I was a beginner then. Smile

This past hunting season I got 1 doe during gun season. I've been hunting since 06 and i've gotten 10 deer. Usually getting 1 during archery and 1 during gun or muzzloader. My 1st deer was a button buck and the rest have been does.

I killed a bear in Minnesota several years ago, I shot it with a rifle and it was still exciting! I have also killed a TON of hogs if you consider them big game.

Hogs are starting to invade southern Ohio!! And there working there way further our way!! Mabey in a few years I can be able to hunt some hogs !! I don't really want them around since I know they would put a Hurting on the crops !! But they sure would be fun to shoot !! What kind of a rifle do you use on your bear hunts?? I'm thinking a 300 win mag would be a good round to use!!

I only got to go bear hunting once. It was a graduation gift from my ex gf and her family. Her grandpa has 40 acres in northern Minnesota and I got to go up there. I use a Remington 700 in 7mm Mag. He dropped with the first hit but I put a second in as insurance before I got down. He weighed a little over 300 pounds.

You don't want the pigs. I spent 3 years in South Carolina doing my best to make a dent the population and lost ground every year. We averaged killing about 1,200 pigs a year for 3 years and the population was still growing slightly. That was between spotlighting, dogs, trapping, and the incidentals on permit deer hunts.

That's a huge population of hogs!! Do you think it would be possible to ever get rid of them all ?? or ae they like coyotes and will just keep on spreading throughout the country??

The only hope that I am aware of for feral hog eradication is still in the development and testing phase. It is being worked on by Auburn University. It is a contraceptive that is supposed to only affect hogs. The pigs eat it and it is supposed to cause an allergic reaction to pregnancy essentially. It won't keep the sow from coming in heat or being bred but it causes her to abort within the first month or so. Haven't heard anything about it recently. Shooting and trapping will never get rid of all of them and it is VERY expensive to even slow the growth of the population.

I can believe that it costs allot of money to use all that special equipment to try and control the population!!
