How often do you pull your cards from your cams?
Just curious as to how often you guys pull your cards from your cams?
I usually go out once a week, unless it is raining then I will go more often since the rain washes any scents away. I have found I get the pictures of the bigger bucks when it is raining.

Well it depends on how busy i am lol if i am at home with nothing to do i will check a camera everyday mabey not all of them but atleast one lol but usually i wait about 3 days and check them all. But i get the most pics if i wait about a week to check them! and usually after a week long soak when i check the cameras deer are running all over the place!! I think that coming in everyday to check cameras spooks allot of deer!
Re: How often do you pull your cards from your cams?
I agree with checking everyday spooking the deer. If I think about it, I try to go out and throw corn twice a week. The deer and coons really appreciate it! LOL I have one area where they have the ground tore up from looking for corn...
Do you practice scent control?

I probally should spray myself and the camera with scent eliminator but i dont usually i just walk out and check the cameras. And i like to throw out some corn once it gets real cold the deer realy like that!
Re: How often do you pull your cards from your cams?
I keep a pair of gloves in my bin of deer corn. That way my scent isn't on the camera. That is pretty much all I do. We throw a little corn year round. Not a lot just a coffee can full. Enough to keep em coming back to check things out.

Every two weeks in the summer and once a week during hunting season, now whenever I can get out there usually one to two weeks. I wear rubber gloves and it seems to work. Scoot

We try to check them every morning but it does not always happen. We have a 435 that will let us know (most of the time) if anything was on the front of the property, plus we can tell if big Critters were around by water missing out of the birdbaths or tracks.

You guys practice scent control more than me I've never sprayed down or worn gloves to check cams I check most cams every other day, and some I let soak for a week. There was one cam I checked almost every day from March to September, and the deer got fairly used to my scent and me. That was the cam that I got almost all my buck pictures on

Once a week usually on the weekends. I never spray when checking cams or dumping out grub. I have too many raccoons that like to be grabby with the cams to leave them go longer and just incase batteries or SD cards died I'm on it quick.
Also just to check for thieves. I've had 1 issue with my W220 in a creek that a jerk thought we didn't own both sides and stole it. I followed his tracks to and from right to the creek bank in his back yard and scared the guy so bad he coughed it up jack snap so, I generally don't lock the cams down though.

I have been bowhunting for 41 years so I fell every time in to a setup you educate the deer you are hunting or trailcaming. I use a three strike rule as the cam numbers start to fall off the deer are on to you and it's time to move. I spray everything I touch with scent killer and i wear rubber boots and try to walk in and out on the down wind side of my trails. some cams soak all season some I can drive my truck right up to. Having good cams with great battery life is a big plus.

I can't finding myself being able to stay away more than a week or ten days most at a time, just too anxious to know whats been happening out there. That said, I practice scent control the same as I would during the hunting season, and I check my cards mid-day hoping most deer are in their bedding area at that time.

Re: How often do you pull your cards from your cams?
Most of my cams are on a 3 day rotation. Some may be everyday if I am in the area. Some I have not been able to get to for 2 months.LOL
The only scent control I use is an old pair of Scentlocker boots.Just because I have them and don't use them for hunting anymore.
My deer in my area know every move I make untill I don't want them to know. Then I use Scent Control.
