Nice. What size. I would love to see a pic. I went out this morning and saw one but it was raining and the thing didnt come close enough. Also saw a fox and 3 deer. Miserable, cold, but i enjoyed it. BEAST

Re: turkey hunting
Well i had a chance at a really nice gobbler .. But i am using a new gun and the pump sticks itself and when i put a shell in the chamber and slid the pump forward i thought it was up as far as it could go .. but when i went to shoot all there was , was a little 'click' and i was trying to figure out what was going on and before i figured out what the problem was the turkey left
so i messed up big time
well now i know to make sure that pump is "all" the way up!!!

Re: turkey hunting
Went again today!
We got there 30 mins before sunrise and when the sun broke across the sky the turkeys started to GOBBLE !
they were atleast 3 of them withing 200 yrds it was a blast to listen to!
one of them flew of the roost and we could here him gobbling his way towards our call !! I was sure we would get him .. but wouldnt ya know it , another hunter came into the woods and trumped right infront of us in daylight and scared every turkey away in the valley!!
but i guess thats what you get for hunting on public land!!!!

Re: turkey hunting
Well it started out great they were really gobblin in the morning but when they went to fly down they flew the wrong way. We moved a bit and had a gobbler coming but it came faster than we were ready for it and my brother was still trying to get in to position. it was prolly 75 yards away from me and i was so close to squeezing the trigger when i saw it saw my brother. It was a really nice gobbler.

Re: turkey hunting
Well guys , yesterday morning i was able to get my turkey!!
I was sitting beside a logging road and the decoy was 15 yrds and about 5 feet to the side infront of me.I tried to keep my eyes moving looking for movement and i caught a glimpse of something white poking throught some brush at about 80 yrds . And when i looked closer i noticed right away it was a turkey! . I had my gun on my lap so i didnt move it since i figured they would see me and run away . they came right up to the decoys on a fast walk . i didnt want to get my gun up right away since they were really close together and i didnt want to risk killing 2 birds! so the one stopped at the decoy and the other one took two steps so i quickly got my gun up and shot.. i noticed right away it was a miss! I knew i didnt take enough time to level the bead properly the other turkey ran a few yrds a few putts on the mouth call and he stopped! This time i took the extra second and made sure to level the bead and then i pulled the trigger! the bird hit the ground like a sack of potatoes
i was not even there 1 hr and the hunt was over !
its just a jake but for my 1st bird i couldnt be happier
