Fire!
Had some excitement tonight. My neighbor decided to cut up some scrap steel, the was in the woods 200 yards down our road... We figure that a spark touched off this fire. I got these pics before the fire department got here...
God I hope we don't have a repeat of 2011, with the drought and all of the fires......

Re: Fire!
That's definitely enough to make a person nervous. Glad they got it put out. The last 2yrs we've had record heat and drought, but I believe we are going to have a more normal year this year, judging by the weather we've had so far.

Re: Fire!
Same here Rich. It brought back memories from two years ago when we had thousands of acres burning across Louisiana and Texas. We had several right near the house. It is also looking good for us this year with all of the rain we have gotten so far. We are still feeling the affects from our drought. All of the trees that were killed in it are coming down with just a little wind or some rain. Causing problems with keeping power etc....
With this fire, we were lucky that Mike opened the door to let the dogs in.... he noticed it. We were also lucky, there was not any wind.
