Our dog was attacked by a big cat today.....

I guess when it rains it pours.... Gretchen our oldest labrador came home tonight after playing in the pond with a ton of wounds on her belly, on the back of her neck and she has a 4 long gash on her front leg. On top of this she was soaking wet.

We have doctored her up, got the bleeding to stop. She will go to the vet in the AM....

Awwwwww poor thing. I love my animals and their like our children now their grown and gone. I'd be setting me a trap for that joker as I'd be seeking revenge. What type of cat you thinking it is?

Gretchen is doing good. She goes back in to the vet on Wed morning. The vet wants the wounds to drain. She will get her leg stitched then. Our vet thinks that she tangled with a immature cougar. It looks like the cat bit down on her leg, grabbed her shoulders/back with it's front claws and used it's back beet on her belly. If our other two labs weren't with her, I don't believe she would have come home.....

Thank you for all your well wishes for her..... I see some cat hunting in our near future......

Gretchen is doing good. She is healing nicely. She has some swelling still in her chest and belly, no infection. Which is a blessing. Most of her wounds are on the other side.
