Frost seeding
Do any of you do it? Bill winkle seems like he does it allot, but was wondering when you start. We have allot of frost in the ground now and as soon as it gets warm I think the seed would just wash away with the snow.

Re: Frost seeding
Frost seed alot of clover. In fact did a new plot today. When the ground freezes and unthaws it pulls the seed down into the soil. You don't want to do it to early or alot of seed will go to waste and be eaten by birds. The best time to do it is at first signs of green up, that's when the soil temp is starting to get warm enough to germinate seeds. Unless you have floods the seed is not going any where. Check out Growingdeer.tv with Dr. Grant Woods for great info on deer and food plots.
