Checking in your harvest Empty Checking in your harvest

Post by Sodbuster Sat Nov 17, 2012 8:28 am

Wondering what kind of system your state has? In Mo they went from check-in stations to a telecheck system a few years back. It's easier to call it in or do it online, but with unlimited doe tags a guy can easily shoot bucks and call them in as a doe. We also can print our tags out on our home computers. Is telecheck used everywhere now or do any of you still take your deer to a check station?

We don't have to check them in here. That would sure be hard hunting all day and then having to go to a check station just to check one in.
Always had to check them in when I hunted W.V. Sometimes we would have to wait an hour just to get checked and then a 2 hour drive home.Made for a very long day.

We usually call ours in, but there is a check-in station 4-5 miles away.

I usually call in! and yes it would be easy to count a little buck as a doe and get away with it to!

Tags are sent in the mail as this state is a draw only state. There are check-in stations or the meat processor can check em in.

Thanks for the replies. Always find it interesting how the rules and regs vary state to state.

We just do it at the processor and he really doesn't ask but, if you want the meat than you put it in your name. We can harvest 10 does (no tags or draw) and 2 bucks and they must have 4 points on one side in our county anyway.

That's correct fellas. We'll start "Operation doe whack" in Dec.
Last years babies and mature does get a free pass. Medium sized doe's get removed.

tele check works. I use my computer this spring turkey season here in Mo. They do spot checks on the system so when you check in a bird or deer it pops up on there laptop and if the agent is in your area you just might get a visit.

ask me how i know... dlc covert ca 3.0 driveway cam.
