Deer Guns

Just intrested in seeing what kind of guns that you guys use for deer hunting

I usually use my mossberg 20 gauge its nothing fancy but it has killed deer for me!!

Sometime i use a 12 gauge but only when i'm in thick stuff and cant shoot far .. because a 20 gauge with a rifled barrel will shoot farther then a 12 gauge with a rifled barrel

So what kind of a gun do you use for deer hunting??

I use a CZ-USA 712 Magnum 12ga. with a 3-9 zoom scope.

I usually use a Savage model 210 12 gauge



I have a nice scope on mine and the gun is really accurate!!

Old army 30-06. Pretty heavy but it is 8-9(deer killed/deer shot at)

Sometimes i wish we could use rifles here in ohio!!

7mm 08 knocks em down at 250 yds.

No fair

but i also like using shotguns since you have to be up close and personal with the deer!!

but a rifle would be so awesome most of the times

By the way i would at that our 30-06 has only shot 9 bullets at deer. One miss and that was because the scope got knocked.

Whats the average range that you guys shoot deer at??

most of the deer that i have a chance at with the gun are usually around 85-90 yrds thats average for me

Prolly 100 yards. My bro shot one at 200 hundred thru the woods. That's prolly the farthest it has shot. I dont think he really aimed above the deer at all.

most guys around here shoot the majority of deer anywhere from 50-150 yds



@ray12 i like getting up close and personal too, that's why i archery hunt

killing a deer with a gun is fun but a bow kill gives you a rush you wont get ANYWHERE else!!

nothing like sitting out in the woods early morning with a bow in your hand!!

I use a remington 870 12 gauge. I hunt in pretty thick woods open sighted but shoot 35-50 yards.
