Figured it out. Any suggestions. I know I have horrible cuting skill and putting stuff together, but I had fun building it. Now I got to go clean up the mess.

Re: Antler traps
Watched a guy build one last night on a local hunting show. He drove 3 T-post into the shape of a triangle and then put chicken wire on 2 sides of it. He then dumped feed in the tight corner with the idea of the antlers getting caught in the wire while eating. He claimed it has worked well for him. One could set this up and feed year round to condition the deer to come to this spot and then put up the chicken wire every year at shedding time. Good luck with yours Bryce.

Re: Antler traps
I've been using an antler trap I made for three years with no success. Next winter I'm going to build one using bungee cords. Stay tuned.
Re: Antler traps
hey good to see you here Nantucket!! I am going to try out the chicken wire antler trap my uncle tried it this winter and collected allot of sheds sounded easy enough. I might still try it this season but i figure most of them dropped already!
Re: Antler traps
Not having the best of luck with it. I watch an 8 pointer come out everynight and eat out of it. He rejust the straps every time at least I still know that he has them. Might be setting the chicken wire thing up this weekend.

Re: Antler traps
Here's a video from last winter of a nice 6 at the trap. It shows you how the trap is supposed to work.
