No tall tales here.... pure proof!
Our processor is 5 miles away and our breakfast country restaurant is across the street from it. We eat breakfast after the morning hunt and then head next door to see what's came in from several counties away. This was 2011 season as I missed all of last year ya know.

I always see the ones posted that are still alive in posts mostly. These at least didn't get away. Deer in the deep South hardly ever rate like other parts of the country. When I lived in Michigan as a young man the bucks we were after were bruisers well over 200 dressed out. I shot those for the heads, never to eat.
You have to compare apples to apples to bust some one out 1 but, I know where you were coming from.

It depends on nutrition available for proper antler growth really. There are high fenced areas that load the proper nutrition and have unreal racks and the body mass is small considering the uptake in nutrition and can be in the city.
I cringe every time I look at the bucks antlers here when I reflect the ones back home in Michigan. Farm land deer where the soybean fields are for years really help tremendously down here. It's hotter and more humid longer in GA than in MO.
I wish I could wear everyone out the site with a Boone and Crockett herd everyday. Take it from a experienced trail cam forum poster, direct realistic, truthful comments are considered a smart a$$ and will get you banned so beware. I found that out the hard way. Pansy's everywhere. This isn't the racing scene.
I could careless really but, others are more temperamental and sensitive or other things as I call it. This seems to be the consensus of the American way today.
I'm a combat vet and love wearing some a$$ out so I'm not offended to say what I feel or read it if it makes any sense. My thought pattern is similar to Joe's on the show Dual Survival show on Discovery. Uncle Sam provided that but, civilian's can't comprehend it.
I just have to honor the rules of the site creator ya know. This is why I'm starting my own where there are no frills and 2 faced cry baby members.
Take no offense to this Ray. I like the guys and posts here.

Re: No tall tales here.... pure proof!
Reminds me of as a kid, going my father to get his deer processed. I used to love looking at all of the deer at the processors... I am such an oddball....lol
I am originally from upstate NY... The deer here in my area of East Texas really pale in comparison to NY deer.... especially body size..... Like Ghost said... they have the soybean crops. The
deer love em and their racks and body size shows it!!!

I was waiting for that so I could add the picture from the other side of the cooler. Cotton eyed Joe shot this spike horn when he should've let it get bigger we said. Can't fire all your big guns in one shot we used to say.
