When I shot Compound I used Tru-Firereleases. They worked well for me

Old topic, but I use the Tru Ball T-handle thumb release 79.99. Always struggled whth target panic. Got the thumb release and completely eliminated it. Took my shooting to a whole other level. Anyone having target panic should give one a try.

I find it more comfortable than my old index style. It also makes for better pulling and holding power than a wrist strap release since you grip with your hand like you would a dumbell. I also prefer the trigger placement of the Truball T-handle compared to other thumb releases I've looked at.

Would you use them for hunting or mainly for target shooting?

It's a caliper style just like most index finger releases. I just clip it to my string loop and let it hang keeping my hands free while hunting. You do have to be careful to not drop it or lose it walking the woods since it's not on your wrist. I keep mine in my camo jeans front pocket. I really like it and would never go back to an index style. My target panic would get so bad I couldn't even get the pin on the target before I was jerking the trigger. It was like my finger had a mind of it's own. Now I'll pop a turkey in the head/neck area at 30yds using a standard thunderhead broadhead. I'm also able to shoot at the entire target now instead of just of the center for fear of missing the target and losing my arrow. Heck I sight my bow in now on a 2in x 2in piece of duct tape. Anyone suffering from target panic should give it a try. It sure worked for me.

sounds like it could be a good thing to have!! I lose a few arrows from shooting at the small dots on the edge of the target and it always sucks !
