Hunting camera
I hope to buy a small HD camera to mount onto my bow and gun and then video a few hunts that way ! any suggestions on a camera? I like the looks of eaither the Gopro , but the Drift HD ghost camera also looks good ! I know Fall guy has a Gopro mabey he can let me know what he think of it!
Re: Hunting camera
I've heard people say the GoPro doesn't make a good hunting camera. There is a thread on Chasingame in the hunting forum about filming hunts you might want to check out.

Re: Hunting camera
As of the latest model the GoPro still has no zoom...the future looks bright though!
I have mounted our GoPro's on most of our "weapons" for fun but "hunting" distance I don't believe it would work very well, but it would be better than nothing! I think if you got one you would like it. Try getting a Hero2 off E-Bay or Amazon, it is an older model but easy learning curve.

Re: Hunting camera
I use a GOPRO HERO3 and it is a really IMPRESSIVE camera. I have used it for some of the underwater footage of my outdoor program. I have had GREAT close up footage of a bass with the crankbait in it's mouth and a couple places where the bass actually hits the camera and I have also mounted it on my crossbow and muzzleloader for deer hunting footage. It is TRUE what the others stated.. IT HAS NO ZOOM and that is the ONLY drawback. It is the MOST waterproof camera andI have had footage of deer walking past my stands in a steady rain and NEVER hurt the camera at all..
