Re: High or low
Agree with Fallguy. If deer are spooking then go high. Mine are all low. Deer never even look at my cams hanging on wood poles that I set in the wide open in my plots, but I hang a cam on a cedar in one plot that blends in perfectly with the trunk and every deer and yote looks at this cam. They don't spook, but they always look at it.

Also agree mounting cams high spooks less deer, but I don't like mounting them high. I prefer 3-4 feet of the ground

Re: High or low
Usually i have them about 3-4 feet off the ground to and i see verry little deer spooking
Re: High or low
I change the locations of my cameras weekly and the deer never know where they will be next. They sometimes spot the trailcam when mounted low, but very seldom spooked by its presence. If anything, it seems to just make them curious and they often come closer to investigate it.

That was the last clear picture I got from that card check Jeff because she left a deposit of "nose goo" all over the lens glass. I think she was leaving a message for me.... :geek:

Re: High or low
My Moultrie is about 4 feet off the ground. I have noticed that the deer notice it a ton more than my Bushnell. I have my Bushnell about 2 feet off the ground. The deer pretty much ignore it...
Re: High or low
I like my cams 6-8 foot and sometimes up to 13' in areas where we have some trespassing problems. Deer stop picking my cams off and start moving around them.
