Camera security Empty Camera security

Post by huntinOH Wed Sep 12, 2012 1:02 pm

Do any of you all lock your cameras up? I would like to put a lock on my camera since we have some people snooping around I dont know if they would think about stealing a camera or not but i sure dont want to take that risk! I have a real good camo pattern on the camera lid so it is a little hard to find but if they would see it it would be easy to steal . So what would you guys recomend? A chain around the tree or just a lock on the camera? or any other suggestions would be appreciated Smile

Thanks guys

Most of my cameras aren't locked up, but the ones that are just have locks on them. My X-Cam Blackout has a hole for a python cable and a lock. Currently I only have a lock on it, but am gonna get a Python cable before to long. I think they make lock-boxes for the S1.3X, so you could go that route.

Or maybe somehow hook up a small chain to where the bungee chords attach?

All mine have a python cable lock. If I have a lock box I put a pad lock on it also. Just keeps honest people honest.
If they want it, they will get it or break it.

we stopped locking our cameras and stands. locks are only for honest people. we have found that no matter what you lock them with if someone wants it they will get it. we have had cable and chain cut. and the lock boxs broken or the whole thing taken. so we do not even waste money on locking anything. you want to catch a guy put another cam on the exact same tree and then hang one in the trees above it facing it.

I agree if someone wants it then he will get it! and it will just cost you more money because you will lose some chain or a lock

Cant even trust other hunters when you put out your stands anymore Sad
