Never had any luck calling them in, but never put much effort into it. Electronic calls would be best (if you got the funds), so you could set it up like a bait pile and hunt away from it. In open areas better go with a rifle to reach out and touch em', if your in tight quarters go with the shotgun. Coyotes seem to be very active in the daylight right now down here. I have a problem one that's living on the place and is killing my cats. Had a face to face with him the other day at 20yds in the field (a little to close for comfort) and nothing in my hands to kill him, so I backed away from him. Have to get him killed soon, he's become way to brave.

I need to learn that trick too as we have a bunch around our area. We got a black one this year while deer hunting but, a bunch roam at dark and as big as a German Shepard it appears. I had the 400lb hog out there for them and posted the Ltl Acorn out there and not even 1 cell pic of any yote's. RRRRRRRRRR....... Buzzards ate it in a weeks time though.

I tried for first time last winter, bought a foxpro spitfire and had two come in but they winded me, it shifted. I get quite a few on cam so I want to thin them out, they are super tough to hunt. Scoot

Re: hunting yotes
Trapping them "might" be easier if theres allot of them around!
If you want to call them everyone says that febuary is the best time since its breeding season and they always respond to calls hoping that its a female who is doing the killing.
We have an electronic caller but its an older one that uses Tapes i want to trade it in and get myself a Fox Pro eventually! Hand calls would be cheaper but i cant ever figure those darn things out and then there useless lol

I used a rabbit in distress call on some other land years ago and can't say if it was responsible or not. A yote and 2 bobcats rolled through. The yote and 1 cat dropped and 1 cat got away.

Re: hunting yotes
We have a hearty creek that runs through the land and one morning heading to a stand across the creek just before daylight, a pack of them were running the creek yipping and howling. I tried to intercept them at my crossing point and was going to introduce them the a .45 cal revolver 6 shooter. I had my 300 of course but missed my chance. I was so darn mad. The creek wasn't as full as you see here either.

The stand I was headed to across the creek
Up the creek where they were coming from
Down the creek where they went

I've tried hunting them. My uncle got 2 of them the other day while hunting. He was using a rabbit distress call. Was a pretty good rush to see them coming.
